Hotkeys and shortcuts in Koyfin make navigation faster and easier, helping you jump directly to tools or data without navigating menus. Save time and stay focused on analysis with quick access to the information you need.

Default Hotkeys

Every feature on the left-hand side navigation has a 2-3 letter abbreviation for quick access. A few examples include:

  • Market Movers (MOV): Jump to Top Market Movers.
  • Watchlists (MYW): Access your watchlists instantly.
  • Model Portfolios (MP): Quickly open your model portfolios.

How It Works:

  1. Press /: Open the search box.
  2. Type the abbreviation: For example:
  • Type /myw, press enter to open Watchlists.
  • Type /mp, press enter to jump to Model Portfolios.

3. Combine tickers and features: Type a ticker (e.g., AAPL), press enter, type a feature (e.g., ts for transcripts), press enter again to navigate to the desired location which in this case is AAPL transcrtips.

Creating Custom Hotkeys

Customize your workflow by creating custom hotkeys for chart templates, dashboards, and financial templates. Here’s how:

1. Custom Chart Templates

  1. Navigate to the charting tool (hotkey: /g).
  2. Create your chart, adding metrics like revenue growth, margins, or dividend yield and customizing settings such as colors or statistical bands.
  3. Save the chart as a template, name it and assign a shortcut (e.g., fcsp for FCF vs Share Price).

4. Access with a hotkey: Press /, type a ticker (e.g. SBUX), press enter,  then the hotkey (fcsp), and press enter to load the chart.

2. Custom Dashboards

  1. Navigate to the My Dashboards.
  2. Create a Dashboard, name it and assign a shortcut (e.g. DBOLL).

3. Add widgets like watchlists, charts, or news feeds.

4. Access with a hotkey: Press /, type / again, then enter the hotkey (DBOLL) and press enter to load the dashboard.

3. Financial Analysis Templates

  1. Navigate to the financial analysis section (hotkey: /FA).
  2. Press ‘+NEW’ to create a new template, name it, and assign a shortcut (e.g. RGM).

3. Add metrics like revenue, EBITDA, or net income and save the view.

4. Access with a hotkey: Press /, type / again, then enter the hotkey (RGM) and press enter to load the template.
